Rings O-ring
SEALS KD
The O-Ring gasket is the simplest and most economical element. Widely used for static seals, on the other hand, it has a limited use due to its dynamic seals, above all for the often insufficient service life. The possibility of making O-Rings with a wide variety of elastomers allows seals to be carried out in the presence of a wide range of fluids and temperatures. In addition to the standard NBR (Acrylonite - Butadiene) compound with a nominal 70 ° and 90 ° Shore A hardness, O-Rings are available made of:
- Fluorinated elastomer 70 ° Shore A
- 75 ° Shore A silicone elastomer
- 70 ° Shore A ethylenepropylene elastomer
- Polyurethane 93 ° Shore A

ANTSTRUSION RINGS
Due to the nature of the materials they are made of and their profile, the O-Ring gaskets have a very limited extrusion resistance compared to other sealing systems. When the ratio between the operating pressure and the coupling clearance between the metal parts is unfavorable, it is necessary to protect the O-Ring with anti-extrusion rings. Are available:
- Polyester rings (TPE-55) for both SAE (AP) and metric (AM) series O-Rings
- Rings in nitrile rubber 90 ° Shore A
- Rings in virgin PTFE (BKS)
- Two-turn rings in virgin PTFE (BK)
The following diagram shows the maximum permissible pressures for O-rings protected with AP type anti-extrusion rings depending on the coupling clearance.
