SEALS FOR POLEURETHANE SEALPUR ROD

Of the various elements that make up the cylinder sealing systems the rod seals are certainly the most critical. Over time, countless profiles have been made using various materials: from leather to impregnated fabrics up to the most recent urethane elastomers and to PTFE differently loaded depending on the applications: The range available includes:

- the most recent gaskets with semi-compact profile S, SD, SDA
- the traditional gaskets with asymmetrical profile A, AD
- the "ancient" seals with symmetrical lip UP

GASKETS FOR PTFE ROD
The PTFE gaskets provide in all cases the presence of an elastomer ring, which acts as an "expander", designed to guarantee the necessary load of the PTFE ring (which is in itself not very elastic) against the sealing surface. The possibility of using elastomers such as fluorinated or silicone rubbers allows these seals to be used even with aggressive fluids or at extreme temperatures.

For medium or low pressures the Sixten program includes nitrile rubber seals with asymmetric lips (S-DI) and symmetrical lips (S-UM). The range shown below represents all the most frequently requested profiles that have been extensively tested over time.
